Brief Synopsis

  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Human (Mandalorian)
  • Age: 26
  • Role/Class: Mandalorian Warrior / Force-Sensitive
  • Appearance: An imposing figure at 2m tall, Wes's strong frame is hidden by his Mandalorian armor. He has short dark hair and dark eyes. His movements are fluid despite his size. He carries a heavy blaster pistol and conceals a lightsaber in a custom bracer compartment for quick deployment.

Concept

A Mandalorian warrior from a prominent clan who discovers he is Force-sensitive. To protect his clan from Imperial scrutiny, he strikes out on his own, seeking to understand his new abilities. He is torn between the aggressive, martial teachings of an ancient Mandalorian Warmaster's holocron and the calmer guidance of a Jedi Master mentor, trying to find a balance between the two philosophies.

Backstory

Wes grew up as a warrior in a powerful Mandalorian clan during the Galactic Civil War's early days. At age sixteen, on his first solo mission, he met a Jedi Padawan named Marina "Rin" Cloudspinner and discovered both his own Force sensitivity and a powerful bond with her. After the mission, he was slated to train with the Altisian Jedi, but Order 66 shattered the galaxy.

He left the Altisians to protect them and his own clan, traveling to the Unknown Regions. During this time, he was guided by two holocrons: one from a Jedi Master Ven, and another he found belonging to a 4,000-year-old Mandalorian Warmaster named Travist Lah. He eventually found a new mentor in Jedi Master Chase Davion. For years, he worked with the Hidden Path, helping other Force-sensitives escape the Empire. His last memory before stasis is of a mission for the Path on Corellia, after which his memories become patchy and incomplete.

Signature Item

Lore & Description

This suit of Beskar'gam is more than just armor; it is the last relic of a fallen house. Passed down through generations of Clan Del-Fin, it has been with Wes through the loss of his family, the fall of the Republic, and his lonely exile. The dark grey plates are scarred and pitted from countless battles, each mark a testament to a hard-won survival. Every morning, the ritual of donning the armor is a silent promise to honor the memory of the clan he could not save.

Over the years, Wes has refitted and upgraded the suit out of grim necessity. What was once the armor of a clan warrior has been adapted into the all-purpose tool of a solitary operative who must be prepared for any environment. It is his home, his fortress, and the physical embodiment of the Mandalorian iron will that keeps him fighting.

Mechanical Properties & Upgrades

This is a suit of Beskar'gam (Medium Armor) with the following custom modifications:

  • Vacuum Seals: A modification made after a near-disastrous encounter in a compromised hangar bay, the armor is now fully sealed, providing up to 10 hours of life support in a vacuum or other hostile environments.
  • Helmet Package: To compensate for his lack of backup, Wes has upgraded the helmet's sensor suite. It grants a +2 equipment bonus on Perception checks and is equipped with a low-light vision mode and a hands-free encrypted internal commlink for secure, silent communication.
  • Environmental Systems: After missions on both volcanic and ice-bound worlds, Wes integrated improved environmental systems, making the suit immune to the effects of extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • Secret Compartment: A small, sensor-shielded compartment is built into the left gauntlet. It is a place to keep secrets safe, be it a valuable datachip or a lightsaber.

Stasis Wound: The Sundered Core

Narrative Description

The mortal injury that led to your long sleep was catastrophic. Though the advanced stasis process sealed the wound, it did not truly heal it. You bear the scars of a lightsaber piercing clean through your abdomen—a small, puckered entry wound on your stomach and a larger, ragged exit scar on your back. They are a constant, physical reminder of a moment of ultimate failure. The wound pulls with every twist of your torso, an ache that flares to sharp pain with overexertion. You feel as though you are held together by will as much as by flesh.

More than just a physical mark, the weapon that delivered the blow left a "cold spot" in your soul. It’s a place of metaphysical numbness in your connection to the Force, a permanent vulnerability you can feel whenever dark energies are near.

Your Mandalorian iron will, however, allows you to push past the pain in moments of desperation, to perform incredible feats when everything is on the line. But you know that such effort takes its toll on your damaged core, threatening to tear the old wound open and leaving you staggering and weakened in its aftermath.

Mechanical Effects

This condition represents the incomplete healing of a fatal lightsaber wound with the following effects:

  • The Cold Scar: Wes suffers a persistent -2 penalty to his Will Defense, but only against Force Powers that have the [dark side] descriptor.

Iron Will: Drawing on his Mandalorian discipline, Wes can push through the pain of his old wound to ensure a critical action succeeds.

  • Benefit: Once per encounter, as a Free Action, Wes may choose to re-roll one failed attack roll, Athletics check, or Endurance check. He must accept the result of the second roll.
  • Cost: Immediately after using this ability, he moves -1 step down the Condition Track. This is a normal penalty and can be removed via the Recovery action.
