An intellectually arrogant and independent-minded Inquisitor who is obsessed with understanding the totality of the Force—Light, Dark, and forgotten traditions. He believes ancient Force-users held insights that both the Jedi and Sith have lost, and he seeks to master the Force not through raw power alone, but through forbidden knowledge.

Once a disciplined Jedi Padawan, Vaeros grew disillusioned with the Order's stagnation and joined a secret group of Dark Acolytes under Count Dooku during the Clone Wars. He became a master of the Makashi dueling form and a respected tactician. After the rise of the Empire and the defeat of his Separatist holdout, he was given an ultimatum by Darth Vader: serve the Inquisitorius, or die.

Now the Eleventh Brother, Vaeros chafes under Imperial dogma but uses his position to continue his secret quest for ancient Force lore. This obsessive hunt for power and knowledge eventually puts him on a collision course with his superiors and leads to the catastrophic event that places him in stasis.

A lightsaber with a subtle curve to the hilt, an ergonomic design favored by practitioners of Form II, Makashi. It feels light and perfectly balanced, an extension of the wielder's wrist, designed for precision and blade-on-blade combat. The crimson blade hums with a quiet intensity, a reflection of its owner's disciplined control over the dark side.

• Superior Weapon: The lightsaber is considered a Superior Weapon, granting Vaeros a +1 equipment bonus on attack rolls.
• Ergonomic Hilt: Due to its perfect balance, the DC for Vaeros's Use the Force checks made to use the Block talent is reduced by 2.
• Counter-Attack Opening: If Vaeros is using the Lightsaber Form (Makashi) feat and successfully uses the Block talent to negate a melee attack, the attacker is considered flat-footed against Vaeros's next attack before the end of his next turn.
• Analyze Dueling Form: Once per encounter, as a swift action, Vaeros can make a Knowledge (Tactics) check against a single opponent (DC 15 + target's CL). If successful, he finds a flaw in their form, granting him a +1 insight bonus on attack rolls against that target and imposing a -1 penalty on their attack rolls against him for the rest of the encounter.

You feel a constant psychic resonance in your mind, a low hum of raw power that makes true focus difficult and leaves you with a persistent spiritual exhaustion.

You are a scholar of power, however, and you remember how to force these chaotic streams into a semblance of order for a single, brilliant moment. By deliberately channeling this volatile energy, you can push your abilities beyond their normal limits, achieving spectacular effects.

But this act of sheer will always comes at a price. Forcing the fractured energies through your damaged spirit leaves you drained and more broken than before, pushing you closer to the burnout that almost claimed you once.

This condition represents the spiritual damage Vaeros suffered after being overwhelmed by a massive release of raw Force energy, with the following effects:

• Echoing Mind: Vaeros suffers a persistent -2 penalty on all Use the Force checks made to maintain concentration on a Force Power or effect.

Forceburn: By recklessly channeling fractured energies, Vaeros can push a Force power beyond its normal limits.

• Benefit: Once per encounter, when you activate a Force Power, you may apply one of the following effects to it:
  • Intensify Power: Increase the power's attack against the target by +5.
  • Empower Power: Increase the power's damage by one additional die.
  • Reach Power: Double the power's range or ignore Line of Sight requirements.
• Cost: Regardless of the power's success or failure, you immediately move -1 step down the Condition Track. This is a Persistent Condition and requires extended rest (8 hours) to negate.
