Initial installation

  1. Install Simplelink SensorTag (Android) or TI SensorTag (iOS) application on your smartphone/tablet ;

  2. Download appropriate OAD binary of the SoftRF firmware from this location ;

  3. Turn on power of your SensorTag and make sure that it's LED is flashing in blue color :

  1. Launch your Simplelink app. It should be able to scan BLE devices in the vicinity and detect your SensorTag as 'Multi-Sensor' :
  1. Tap on the 'Multi-Sensor' icon to proceed into this device menu. Select 'TI OAD Service' menu option :
  1. Tap onto 'SELECT CUSTOM FW' button :
  1. A pop-up message should come up. Tap onto 'OK' , then select downloaded (on Step 2) SoftRF firmware binary file from your smartphone/tablet filesystem :
  1. A progress indicator should come up next :
  1. Upon reaching 100% value the smartphone/tablet should self-disconnect from the SensorTag :
  1. and indicate successfull completion of the procedure :
  1. The SensorTag will restart by itself. When SoftRF firmware is properly installed - the device power-up LED color should change on green :

Revert back to factory firmware

  1. Turn on power of your SensorTag and make sure that it's LED color is constant green ( this indicates that SoftRF firmware is up and running ) :
  1. Turn power off. Press and hold left button.
  1. Turn power on again. The LED should become alternating red, green, blue :
  1. Keep holding left button for more than 5 seconds until the LED will turn off by itself. Then cycle power with the switch. Flashing blue LED will indicate that SensorTag factory firmware has become restored :

Update

  1. At first, revert the Sensortag to the factory state by following these instructions

  2. Then install new firmware by following these instructions
