First-time firmware installation procedure

S76G

  1. Take STM32 USB firmware upgrade tool (DfuSeDemo) from this location: https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stsw-stm32080.html#overview

  2. Download appropriate DFU variant of the SoftRF firmware from this location

  3. Press and hold BOOT button on your S76G device, plug the board into your computer's USB slot, then release BOOT button

  4. STM Device in DFU Mode should appear in the list of hardware:

  1. Run DfuSeDemo application, STM Device in DFU Mode should become selected automatically:

  1. Press Choose menu button, then select firmware file as follows:

  1. The file is loaded into the program's memory:

  1. Press Upgrade button:

  1. Then wait for completion:

  1. Press Leave DFU mode button:

  1. If the flashing procedure was successful, the S76G board should appear in the list of hardware as COM port:

  1. Connect to the COM port while using PuTTY utility as follows:

  1. A flow of NMEA sentences should come up:

  1. If you see the NMEA sentences - your firmware installation is done.
