Saws are weaker alternatives to axes, and are able to be crafted from iron, gold or diamond, however they're main use is as a crafting tool to create wooden planks and sticks. Vanilla recipes for wooden planks and sticks now require a saw or flint axe, and the yield produced is doubled when using a saw from a flint tool.
