Minutes_MiniStd_2019 02 - airr-community/airr-standards GitHub Wiki
Meta: 2019-02-08, 13:30 UTC
** Present ** Brian, Christian, John, Lindsay, Nina
** Organization ** = AIRR2019 Panel Discussion = - Contacted Ilene Mizrachi (Head of primary data archives @NCBI), still
waiting for reply.
= Future of the WG = - MiniStd will transition from WG to standing committee (SC), time and
mode of this transition need to specified.
- It seems logical to have only a single "Standards (Maintenance) SC" which will absorb the products of all standardization WGs once the WGs are finished. However, this could be a contensious issue so it should be discussed at AIRR2019
- There is an agreement that a more scientifically focused metaanalysis of public AIRR-seq datasets is only meaningful once there is a working API-Formats-Metadata stack and tools using it ("AIRR Standards Eco- system").
- There is also an agreement that a combined Metaanalysis/Ecosystem demonstration should be worked on by a new WG as it touches upon the areas of ComRepo, DataRep and MiniStd.
- Therefore the "Metaanalysis" target as defined in Dec 2017 is considered void (superceeded by the combined Metaanalysis/Ecosystem demonstration)
- Draft of single-cell/paired-chain extension (MiAIRR 2.0) should be com- pletetd until end of April.
- MiniStd will publish one more commentary before the transition is made (see below)
** New Topics ** = MiniStd Commentary = - Draft (very rough) can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TsNYgLoRExCxu0aYu_RC7x8FbCtwqOBsRGRMj8n8vjc
- General ideas:
-- Summarize history of MiAIRR and related AIRR Standards -- Describe the current state of adoption by databases, analysis and curation tools -- Introduce the MiAIRR 2.0 extension -- Discuss further standardization to make tools and databases interoperable -- Highlight future entities succeeding MiniStd (Standards SC and Meta/Eco WG)
