Introduction

For more than 100 years the Seventh-day Adventist Church has sponsored social work, disaster relief, and public health services in North America and around the world. Jesus identified with the poor and oppressed, and a community services volunteer continues this work.

Duties of a Community Services Volunteer

The work of a community services volunteer might include any of the following activities:

  • All Hands Service Projects
  • Continuing Education Programs
  • Women’s Homeless Shelter (women only)
  • Small Fellowship Groups
  • Jackson Family Shelter
  • Enrichment programs
  • Resume writing workshop
  • Street Fairs (coordination with Health Ministries)
  • Meals on Heels
  • Adventist Peace Fellowship
  • Visiting the Sick and Aged
  • Volunteer coordination
