Introduction
For more than 100 years the Seventh-day Adventist Church has sponsored social work, disaster relief, and public health services in North America and around the world. Jesus identified with the poor and oppressed, and a community services volunteer continues this work.
Duties of a Community Services Volunteer
The work of a community services volunteer might include any of the following activities:
- All Hands Service Projects
- Continuing Education Programs
- Women’s Homeless Shelter (women only)
- Small Fellowship Groups
- Jackson Family Shelter
- Enrichment programs
- Resume writing workshop
- Street Fairs (coordination with Health Ministries)
- Meals on Heels
- Adventist Peace Fellowship
- Visiting the Sick and Aged
- Volunteer coordination
