To create a new post to the Updates & Notices page:

1. Navigate to the _posts folder (either in GitHub or your cloned/branched repo).

2. Create a new markdown file with the following filename: YYYY-mm-dd-some-brief-description.

3. Include a title, tags, and categories (optional) in the YAML header.

4. Save and commit the new file. In a minute or two the Updates & Notices page should be updated with the new post.
