What did they do well?

Group 6 did Game of Thrones Data and they went real Games of Thronesy with it. Their entire website incredibly encompesses the game of thrones theme. From fonts to high res photos, they really immerse the user into the world of Game of Thrones.

What did we learn from their website?

Their website is organized in a very simple, yet elegant way. Their use of minimalist bootstrap templates is nice, as it does not take focus away from the API and the utility of the site. Their website showed us that having the carousel engulf the entire page is a nice and clean way to decorate a site. We also learned many things with regards to Game of Thrones. The website does an excellent job in spoiling and ruining the HBO show for any fan interested enough.

What can they do better?

Criticism of the website can be organized into two main points: the aesthetic of the data representation and the functionality of the API. The display of data, in my opinion, is a bit crude. First complaint in this domain is with respect to having blue text with a black background. This makes reading the data on the site particular hard and strenuous. A softer color with a better thematic attachment to the show have would been a better choice. The API is a bit crude as well. Although the models have diverse and novel connections and relationships, they way the data is served is too coarse. Serving the entire list of models without the ability to limit the amount sent is a bad idea as it does not keep in mind those who have bad internet connections who still want to use the API.

What puzzles us about their website?

On the books page there are twelve books when in reality there are only five with plans to have seven. That doesn’t make sense, might be side books by Martin but still shouldn’t be on the website in our opinion. They also have characters multiple times, probably for each time the occur in separate books either way not proper.
