HOMEWORK:

  • READ: Siapara, Eugenia. Chapter 9: New Media & Identity (pages 185-206), Understanding New Media.

  • NEW Extra Credit Assignment

  • Group Presentation Preparation (begins today). You’re responsible for keeping in touch with your group, and planning for your presentation. This means:

  1. Meeting outside of class to prepare.
  2. Delegating tasks to each person.
  3. Building a multimedia presentation (file) to show the class.
  4. Studying/Reviewing the presentation with your group.

While everyone in the group is graded individually, how you work as a group will affect and reflect your efforts.

  • Group Responses Demonstration done on Github today

  • The first TWO presentations will be on APRIL 16. Group 1 on “Cognitive Surplus: Gin TV & The Cognitive Surplus” by Clay Shirky. Group 2 on Lawrence Lessig, Free Culture, pgs 15-59.

  • Groups 3 and 4 will present on APRIL 30. Group 3 on Steyerl, Hito, In Defense of the Poor Image, e-flux journal #10. Group 4 on Michu Kaku, The Physics of the Future, Ch 1. FUTURE OF THE COMPUTER: Mind over Matter.
