IPTV Manager supports channel presets coming from the add-on.

NOTE: We no longer think this is a viable idea. Now that we have experienced the situation where we have multiple add-ons providing the exact same channel (in some cases we had 4x the same channel) the numbering spins out of control. These channels also may have different quality, latency, functionality (live vs VOD) so there is no single preferred way to pick one over the other, and some add-ons offer both regional and international channels. So all this is a bit moot. Nice idea, impossible to do right in practice :disappointed:

NOTE: Presets can still be useful in those cases where a region has a defined order of preference, but this is something regional add-ons will have to work together to find a common standard. As is shown below for the Flanders region.

Predefined channel preset profiles per regio/language

Obviously this is not very useful, except maybe for regional channels. We think that it is better that IPTV Manager supports custom (regional) channel presets. This would mean that IPTV Manager either auto-selects channel preset profiles based on Country/Region + Language, or leaves it up to the user to select a preset profile from a list.

Users can then contribute these channel preset lists with this project.

Conventions

The below list is a convention that both IPTV Manager as well as add-ons and EPG providers can use to align much better.

Over time we would like to see the presets end up in a channel preset profile per region.
