Configuring your proxy

This Kodi add-on supports the global proxy configuration settings of Kodi. You can configure your proxy in Kodi in:

Settings » System » Internet access » Use a proxy server

Normally a proxy is not required to use this add-on, however some organizations only allow Internet access using a proxy server.

Using a SOCKS proxy

If your organization is using a SOCKS proxy, you need to install the script.module.pysocks Kodi library. On Windows you also need the script.module.win_inet_pton Kodi library for this to work.

How to configure a Proxy cache

Some organizations (e.g. schools) may want to cache specific streams to save on bandwidth. Since most (if not all) HTTP access is using SSL, it requires special infrastructure and PKI to make this work. Just using a proxy for caching will not work.

Just configure your proxy server to proxy only specific domains. Streaming data for VRT NU uses the following domains:

• images.vrt.be
• live-cf-vrt.akamaized.net
• ondemand-cf-vrt.akamaized.net

Other domains used:

• api.vuplay.co.uk (?)
• media-services-public.vrt.be
• remix-cf-vrt.akamaized.net
• token.vrt.be
• video-user-data.vrt.be
• vrtnu-api.vrt.be
