Importing Mappings - adamjberg/RIME GitHub Wiki

Once you have created a custom mapping, there's a few steps you have to go through to use it within RIME.

iOS

  • Download iExplorer to your computer. You can download it at http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/. iExplorer is a program that allows you to use your iOS device as a mass storage device. We'll need it so that you can add your customMapping.json to a place where you can locate it later.
  • Launch iExplorer once installed, then connect your iOS device to you computer.
  • Open iExplorer(you do not need to purchase iExplorer, simply press "continue with demo". Demo last for 30 days) and the application should automatically detect the device.
  • On the left hand side you should see "Apps". Open App and then find the application "RIME"
  • Place your customMapping.json file in /Library/Application Support/Rime
  • Run RIME on your device
  • Select the "Mappings" button from the RIME home screen
  • Tap the "Add" button
  • A text field should appear. Enter the name of the mapping file(eg. customMapping.json) in the text field then select OK.

###Android

  • Plug in your Android device to your computer
  • Drag your mapping json file into the Download folder of your Android device.
  • Run RIME on your device
  • Select the "Mappings" button from the RIME home screen
  • Tap the "Add" button
  • A text field should appear. Enter the name of the mapping file(eg. customMapping.json) in the text field then select OK.

Your mapping will now be available to be applied to any media file you wish to control with RIME.
