Final Report - adamishaq/Virtual-Ecology-Workbench GitHub Wiki

Now that your MEng exams are over, we must now focus on finishing off remaining bits of code on VEW, and start our final report.
After some discussion with everyone (minus Andy, who was at home revising), who is working on what are:

High Level Non-Technical Description - Adam
Short Technical Description - Adam
Software Engineering Issues - Adam (with input from others as needed)
Validation - Adam
Conclusion - Adam
User Manual - Mike
Handover Guide - Dave, Bates, Andy

Handover Guide
The handover guide will contain information about changes we have made to VEW which would be of use to Wes. Stuff like what changes we made to his code (as part of the UI refactor, for example), how the XML compiler works etc.
I suppose everyone can write about the bits they worked on, we can then collate what we have and work out where to go from there.

User Guide
The plan is to update the existing User Guide to reflect the changes to the model editor, guiding the user through key features and how they work. The word file for the user manual is in the link below

http://www.vew.org.uk/vewupdate/vewdocs.zip

Wes has told me we can update the version number for VEW to 4.0. He also warns me that the document may contains some errors, so if you notice any glaring ones, please fix them!

Other Sections
A lot of the report will re-use material from our three reports previously submitted. However, if I require information from anyone, I will send an email/text where necessary.

Formatting
I will be writing our report in LaTeX, but how you write your individual section is up to you. Obviously, the User Guide will be in Word, since that is how Wes wrote it originally.

Key Dates
In the aforementioned meeting, we also discussed key dates.
