Welcome!

The plan is to transform this into a blog. I'd never managed to find time to try out GitHub's wiki feature, so now is the time to give it a try. Researching prior art is likely a good idea, but I'm just going to go forward and see what happens. 😄

I do have a high opinion of tools like WordPress, but the engineer in me is intrigued by the following aspects of using GitHub wikis here:

• I can manage content via the git CLI, an interface I've grown used to "living in" daily.
• Backing up is as trivial as cloning the repository

I suppose a drawback is that I have to rely on GitHub as a Markdown renderer, but now such functionality is common enough among GitHub's peer services and even as plugins for the various CMS platforms.

Enough for now -- time to help my kids figure out the last step in constructing an end portal.
