[16:08] <Wilco> TOPIC: Put IDs in rule frontmatter, rather than get it form the filename
[16:09] <Jey> @wilco - some of the new rules have 6 character strings in file names, hence we may have to add ids to front-matter
[16:09] <Jey> elaboration, frontmatter with the `--- content ---` in the md file is called front matter
[16:11] <Jey> @bryn - got excited with the sun and put his hand up
[16:11] <Jey> @anne - usecases for the id, was to easily refer them
[16:12] <Jey> @wilco - url stays the same as the id
[16:14] <Jey> @jey - so we are not changing the filename to 6 digit random chars, instead id is a unique random string within filename.
[16:15] <Jey> @wilco - but the url will be `id`.html
[16:15] <Jey> next topic - https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/issues/420
[16:15] <Jey> @wilco - to take an action for issue 422, to come up with a better naming convention for file names.
[16:16] <Jey> Issue - 420 - remove oudated glossary
[16:16] <Jey> @anne - some of them are outdated and these need to be deprecated/ moved to outdated folder
[16:16] <Jey> @wilco - sounds, good & no objections
[16:17] <Jey> @anne & @jey - to sort this out during pairing
[16:17] <Jey> next topic https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/pull/419
[16:18] <Jey> @bryn - @jorge came up with a rule idea, I have authored a rule and need feedback/ debate
[16:19] <Jey> @bryn - have reached out to @jorge, need feedback on what svg elements are images and what does AT recognise etc
[16:21] <Jey> see - https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Element/image
[16:22] <Jey> @wilco - unsure about SVG spec
[16:23] <Jey> @wilco - do other partners have implementations for this
[16:24] <Jey> @shadi - technically manual methodology should cover this, is it potentially possible to have implementation. It would be useful to add this.
[16:25] <Jey> @shadi - wcag says non text content should be communicated to AT via alternative text, so this should imply to SVG as well
[16:25] <anne_thyme> RGAA image criteria: https://disic.github.io/rgaa_referentiel_en/criteria.html#images (Ctrl+F for "svg")
[16:26] <Jey> @wilco - it is difficult to diff graphic object from actual graphic
[16:27] <Jey> @wilco - svg can draw charts and text, as instead an img can represent a graphic, it can get difficult to understand this
[16:27] <Jey> @shadi - worth exploring
[16:28] <Jey> @bryn - can we extend image-has-name rule for svg
[16:28] <Jey> @bryn - or create a new rule to tackle svg image elms?
[16:30] <Jey> @wilco - consider who can implement this, and reach out to people which svg expertise
[16:31] <Wilco> https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/issues/411
[16:31] <Jey> @anne - if we have a link that is completely empty, is it a wcag violation? some tools flag it but alfa does not
[16:32] <Jey> @wilco - i believe it is a violation
[16:32] <Jey> @anne - nothing shows up to the user, why should AT know?
[16:33] <Jey> @wilco - but it is a focusable element, and hence should have an accessible name.
[16:34] <Wilco> <a href="/"></a>
[16:35] <Jey> @anne - i cannot tab to a completely empty link, oh actually I can :)
[16:35] <Jey> @bryn - we should definitely flag it as a failure
[16:35] <Jey> @anne - we should add a testcase
[16:36] <Brian_Bors> Jey, that was me. Not Bryn. :)
[16:36] <Wilco> https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/pull/408
[16:36] <Jey> next topic - https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/pull/408
[16:37] <Wilco> Jey: New rule, CSS Orientation lock. It is a composite rule I authored with Audrey
[16:37] <Wilco> ... there are two ways to go about it. If the page content is not locked by media queries.
[16:37] <Wilco> ... the other rule is about even if there is an orientation lock, there should be a control that lets you handle orientation
[16:38] <Wilco> .... There are a few comments. I have resolved about half of them
[16:39] <anne_thyme> https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/orientation.html
[16:46] <Jey> topic: https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/issues/368
[16:48] <Jey> @shadi - expressing concern on rules with assumptions, and getting it through working group.
[16:49] <Jey> @shadi - as against can we just flag such rules as semi automated?
[16:49] <Jey> @wilco - it is a tradeoff, and decisions to be made by tool developers
[16:51] <Jey> @wilco - personally don't mind if auto-wcag rules do not get published by AG, and I am willing to have that conversation separately.
[16:53] <Wilco> https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/issues/368
[16:54] <Jey> @anne - explaining stages to process of including rules
[16:55] <Jey> @wilco - like the idea, but why can't we create issues for initial feedback?
[16:59] <Jey> @anne - this will stop rules from getting published with out enough approvals
[16:59] <Jey> @wilco - rule authors should take responsibility for sending out that email
[17:00] <Jey> @wilco - lets try out the new process
[17:01] <Jey> @bryn - to add labels to https://github.com/auto-wcag/auto-wcag/pull/263
