Leap Motion
The Leap Motion by Ultraleap is an amazing piece of technology; you can stick it on your VR headset, and you get fingers tracking without motion controllers. It's a built-in VaM feature that's integrated into Embody. Keep in mind however that it only works within a fairly narrow angle in front of your VR headset. You'll also need to buy (or 3d print) an adapter to stick it on your VR headset.
To activate Leap Motion, you need to:
- Install the latest driver. I recommend the Gemini developer preview because of its superior tracking. Make sure the Leap Motion Control Panel is opened and working.
- Activate Leap in Virt-A-Mate. You can see if it works by enabling Leap hands with Male hands model in the VR2 settings page. If you can't see your fingers working there, it won't work in Embody.
- By default, Embody will connect with Leap for finger motion, but if you also want to use Leap Motion positioning, you need to toggle the option in Tracker settings, for Left Hand and Right Hand. There is also a preset that will do that for you.
Leap Motion in Desktop
You'll need the DesktopLeap plugin to use possession using Leap Motion on Desktop.
Fingers recording
You can record finger motion in Timeline 5 with Embody!
