#The User Describe you, in third person, as the user of this dashboard. Being able to describe the user-persona will help determine the goals.

Ashley is a busy graphic designer who is very involved in many different social networks and other media. A dashboard for her would consist of the following: social network feeds, iOS calendar, general and project based to-do lists, recent emails.

The dashboard is designed to help Ashley have a central hub for a lot of little informational things. This dashboard is also customizable to show only what she wants to show; it will show only what is relevant to her. It will be a desktop based dashboard app that she can access and launch locally.

Ashley also has the option to dismiss the dashboard if she so wishes. Since it's basically an app, she should have the option to use it and dismiss it when she's done with it.

#The Problems Identify or understand your problems the dashboard will solve. Why make this at all? Design is problem solving - what problems need solved?

In order to check feeds, check email, check upcoming events, etc you have to go to different places in order to do this. Sometimes a lot of different places. This dashboard is designed to target those who live actively via the internet.

It will solve the problem of too many places to visit and dealing with irrelevant information. It will gather all the information she wants into one area, where she can read and catch up in a timely manner without battling any of the extra crap that's out there on the internet.

This dashboard also allows Ashley to see her iOS calendar and various to-do lists she has for herself. She can see upcoming schedules and due dates for herself, while also keeping track of what she needs to complete. The calendar and to-do lists will be linked to her iPhone so she can update them at any time. Then when she opens her dashboard, they are there.

#The Solutions Research. Research. Research. Create a wish list with links and resources. Collect as much information as possible to find solutions.

  • Facebook and Twitter Integration
  • Email integration
  • Calendar / List Integration

#The Plan

  • Define small solutions without much complexity
  • How feasible is this plan to implement?
  • Is it manageable in the time allotted?

#The Review This step is repeated - often - and is apart of each phase/assignment. We'll review each phase of the process. Design is not linear, but needs direction - otherwise it's simply experimentation without purpose. We'll revise this document with commit messages.
