DCM2NII attempts to convert images from the proprietary scanner format to the NIfTI format used by FSL, SPM5, MRIcron and many other brain imaging tools. NIfTI is a modern incarnation of the Analyze format, but includes important information like the orientation of the image. DCM2NII is a stand-alone program that is distributed with MRIcron. It is natively compiled for Windows, Linux x86, Mac OSX PPC and Mac OSX x86.

1. Create a project

2. Upload files

Select your input files

Please note the following prerequisites: For this tutorial, we got DICOM input file collection from an Open data source 3dicomeviewer

3. Launch Task

Process the Launch Task steps and select dcm2nii tool:

4. Task parameters

Set up the task parameters according to your analysis

The task will be launched in the background and you can monitor the Current status:

5. Output (Derivatives)

When the task is completed, the output will be available in the files.

6. Visualization

CBRAIN provides the Visualization capability without the need of downloading the file, either input or output with a simple and fast click.

You can also compare multiple files side by side by using the Quality Control feature.

Select the files of your interest,
Go to More,
Click on Quality Control.

You will visualize the two first files. To compare to the other files, you can simply click on Next File or Previous File to navigate through your file selection.
