Introduction to the Project - acep-solar/ACEP_solar GitHub Wiki
Hello, and welcome to the ACEP_solar wiki!
We, the initial dev team of Ge Gu, Jon Onorato, and Zhi Peng are excited to have you here.
In short, this code utilizes data from solar panels installed in the state of Alaska, and uses them to help build an interactive graphic as a way to make it clearer to individuals interested in purchasing solar panels exactly how effective they can expect their panels to be. In addition to solar panel data, we have also included references to the popular solar energy prediction tool, pvwatts, from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, to provide more context for our results, and to allow exploration of various installation considerations.
The code, though written explicitly for work with Alaska and the Alaska Center for Energy and Power, is generalized and can be used by anyone interested in developing graphics for their own solar data.
We hope you enjoy the tool, The ACEP Solar Dev Team
