• Routing Table poisoning is very easily performed due to common exploits found in the VPN services and standard linux kernel vulnerabilities
• Cisco Routers allow remote code execution from their VPN service function
• Remote code execution and routing table poisoning allows for a man in the middle attack.
• Web based firewalls allow the malicious actor to change settings using a POST request in certain models.
• Certain cisco routers in the RV series allow an HTTP request to change the web-based management interface.
• Certain versions of exploit mitigation techniques, particularly the Firmware of common routers, actually allow new means to access the home router.
