Overview

• Deploy and Configure a TrueNAS storage server
• Create an ISCSI and NFS Share within TrueNAS
• Connect the shares to the ESXi hosts in the cluster

Issues

Some of the biggest issues I had with the lab were with trying to connect the shares to the hosts in the Nested Cluster. I think it really stemmed from the confusion I had between the resource I was using and the environment I was in, especially with the ISCSI share. I think it was a mistake made initially with the IP addresses creating and binding the necessary port groups and VMkernel NICS so that the servers can connect with the TrueNAS server and have it be added as a storage device. I also ended up with an issue when I went to record the demo where the NFS share suddenly disappeared from the ESXi hosts, yet it was still being read that it was connected and I had access to it through Center, just not the actual Nested Cluster hosts where I actually need to access them.
