Nested-ESXi Hosts Upgrade

In the vSphere Client Interface console, navigate to the Update Manager section
Press on the Baselines tab and create a new Baseline
- Enter a name for the Baseline and select Patch as the content
- Select the criteria for the patches to apply
  - Select the Patch vendor as VMware, Inc.
  - Select the Product as embeddedEsx 6.7
  - Select the Severity as Critical
  - Select the Category as Any
- Skip the manual patch selection
- Verify the selections then press Finish
Go to the Updates tab under the Nested ESXi cluster
Under the Attached Baselines section, press Attach and select the new baseline that was created
Then highlight the baseline after attachment and press Remediate
Verify the information in the menu and press Remediate to start the installation of the patches
After remediation is complete, press Check Compliance to verify the installation was successful

vCenter Upgrade

Navigate to the vCenter Appliance Management Interface console at https://vcenter.domain.local:5480
Go to the Update tab
Under Available Updates, select Version Update 6.7.0.47, then press Stage and Install
- Accept the EULA
- Join the CEIP (or not)
- check I have backed up vCenter Server and its associated databases
- Press Finish
Installation time depends on the size of the environment, mine was estimated to take 507 minutes so I left it overnight
After the installation is complete, go to the Summary tab and verify the upgrade was successful
