DNS in Packet Tracer

• Assign the appropriate IP address, subnet, and gateway to the DNS server
• Enable DNS services
• Create A Records for any servers with the following formats for the name:
  • dns.station-number.com
  • dhcp.station-number.com
• Connect DNS Server to Data-Center-Core to have communication with the DHCP Server
• Update DHCP server to assign DNS server to clients by assigning the DNS Server address to each Pool
• Make sure to reset each client for DHCP in order for them to update the DNS Server
• Can check for DNS Resolution by ping the server's domain names set in the DNS Server
  • ping dns.station-number.com
