Welcome to the cloud-workloads wiki!

cloud-workloads is tool to deploy and measure the performance of several common applications. Workloads are deployed and executed via Saltstack and a collection of formulas provided with this tool. Results are archived and can be interacted with via a browser.

It is important to note that this tool should not be used on production machines as the state of each machine will change as software is installed, reconfigured, and uninstalled over the course of each workload.

It is also important to note that the formulas provided with this tool were developed with Ubuntu 12.04 in mind. If there is enough demand, it should be easy enough to add flexibility into the formulas.

Things still left to do:

  • Add in a configurable path for users to create their own workloads
  • Reduce the configuration complexity of the MySQL workload
