GeoAggregate Categories - abresee/geoaggregate GitHub Wiki

Top Priorities:

  • World Bank Data Economic API
  • EIA Resource API
  • Walkscore API

Bulleted points are the metrics we want.

Data Accuracy Test Site: John's Creek Georgia is a city within Fulton County, Georgia. It includes 5 zipcodes:

Data Quality Zip-Code Checks:

  • 30022, 30005 (Alpharetta)
  • 30097 (Duluth)
  • 30024 (Suwanee)
  • 30076 (Roswell).

We should be able to query specific information from the large data-sets below:

Habitat Health:

Primary Categories: Tree Cover:

Classification? Protected Areas? If no tree cover area calculation, use land use change Commission for Environmental Cooperation

  • Impervious Surface

USGS Impervious. Anthropogenic Biomes? Urban Areas?

  • Water Runoff (climate data and +100 year storm)

CEC "Precipitation" Database Start with annual minimum and maximum rainfall, can do monthly if needed.

  • Water Quality

(NOAA?)

  • Fish Abundance (inland only. FWS? NWF?)

Resource Use:

Primary Categories:

  • LEED / 2030 Certified Buildings (compared to amount of buildings in area)

  • Energy Use/sq ft (compared to higher or adjacent political boundary)

  • Water Use/sq ft (compared to higher or adjacent political boundary)

  • Waste/sq ft (compared to higher or adjacent political boundary)

  • Renewable Energy Production Developer Network API key Look into buildings and solar

Energy Information Agency has all these stats including Link to API, Data query, Time series Data, Documentation Data

Looking specifically for State-Level Data dataset as seen here: State-Level Data

Specifically:

  • Electricity Generation
  • Fuel Consumption
  • Emissions
  • Number of Customers
  • Generating Capacity

Note: Waste will be harder to find, these have been done using per capita excel databases. Same with water consumption. These have been compared to per building square feet and use type, so this may also be a challenge.

State Energy Data System (SEDS) State Energy Data System

Economic Data World Bank Data API World Bank Developers Data

Primary Categories:

  • Employees / Area
  • Housing Unites / Area
  • Housing Affordability
  • Median Household Income
  • Property Ownership

Some of these categories will need to query data from other datasets, and are therefore more complicated. However, if this particular API has information that can develop these categories we should use it. Some of these categories may come from the TIGER census tracts.

Primary Categories:

  • Walkscore Walkscore API Link
  • Transit Stops/Area
  • Urban Agriculture (USDA?)
  • Parks and Recreational Area
  • Schools

Database of API Possible environmental API Has many chemical features, but few of actual environmental maps. EPA Envirofacts API home site Ecolab API key EPA Index tons of links EPA and USGS Water Quality only shows number ot tests taken per state API's methodology database examples:
