Tips for using the tree generator

Use reference images.

Decide on a level of detail, do you want individual mesh leaves, or whole branches as alpha planes.

Wireframe mode or matcaps can be used to help see the tree better while editing

Setting branches to 1 will grow a single branch from the tip of the parent branch. This can be useful if more branches aren't needed or to see the full length of the branches before more are added.

The Pruning settings have hardly been changed in this version and they do not work very well, it is sort of a vestigial feature. I recommend using other settings to control to the shape of the tree as much as possible. If you do want to use it, using the 'No branch at stem tip' option will make it work more like it did originally.

Use a negative curvature setting and negative Vertical Attraction to make more vertical branches curve up and more horizontal branches to curve down.

Negative branch rotation values make branches sprout from the sides of the parent branch.

With opposite leaf modes, odd and even numbers of leaves controls if 1 or 2 leaves sprout from the stem tip.

Branch rotation for the trunk and first level should usually be left at the defaults of 99.5 and 137.5, as these numbers are chosen specifically to produce the best rotations and distribution more about this.

To make a tree appear as if it has multiple stems sprouting from the ground use splitting on the trunk and move the base below the ground plane.
