Each integration corresponds to a channel in Mirth, and each vendor can have multiple channels for any number of reasons. For example, Allscripts is a vendor and has many channels and corresponding integrations. Each one typically corresponds to a particular health network (CNE for example), which could have information for any number of populations coming in through the channel. I think there are a few reasons why we don’t just stick it all under one channel:

• memory / load constraints

• keeping data for disparate health networks separated

• general organizing
