3.2 Controlling the ASI Stage through Cockpit's UI - aasmaa11/microscope GitHub Wiki
Once Cockpit is running with the depot file, one can control the ASI Stage through Cockpit's user interface. The control of the X and Y axes is separated from the control of the Z-axis.
Macro-stage window
To have access to the Macro-stage window, the user can select Macro-stage under the Windows tab of the Cockpit main window.
Controlling the XYZ stage
Input positions in micrometers
The position of the z-axis can be changed in the Go to XYZ window. The user must double right click anywhere on the left side of the Macro Stage window (not in the keypad control for the z-axis). A small window will pop out to allow the user to change the position of any of the axes. Once the new position (in micrometers) is entered, the user must click Okay to trigger the movement.
Top, center and bottom controls for the Z-axis
Cockpit allows the user to define a specific range for the z-axis. To do so, you can input any upper or lower limit next to Save Top and Save Bottom respectively. Once the range is define, you can move the z-axis to the upper and lower limit by clicking on Go to top and Go to bottom. You can also move the z-axis to the center of the range by clicking on Go to center.
Keypad control
XY stage
One can move the X and Y axes to any position by double left clicking anywhere within the rectangle, which represents the range of valid values. The red dots show the current position of the XY stage.
Z-axis
The user can also move the z-axis through the keypad by double left clicking on any of the vertical black lines (vertical lines on the right side are more precise than those on the left side). The red horizontal lines show the position of the z-axis within the range of valid positions (within the limit of [-0.075, 0.075]mm for the MS 2000 stage).
