Using AGM - a3g/a3g-information GitHub Wiki

1. Setting up keybinds

First off you need to set at least the two keybinds for the self-interaction and interaction menu. To set those keys, start any mission (or put down a single unit in the editor and hit preview) and press Esc. In the top left of your screen there should now be a button saying "AGM Options". Click it and make sure you have those keys set to something you can easily access and are comfortable with.
In this menu you can also change some other AGM options, there are multiple pages, just take a look through it.

2. Using the interaction menus

2.1 Treating yourself

If you took a shot you will start bleeding and you will be in pain. Bleeding will be indicated by a typical bloody screen and pain is shown by blur, chromatic aberration and some other effects (you will know when you are in pain, don't worry). You will also pass out if you took too much damage, then you will be unable to move and communicate with others. If you are bleeding and don't bandage yourself/get bandaged by others you will continuously lose blood and slowly bleed out, this is indicated by your screen slowly turning black and white.
To treat yourself open the self-interaction menu and click on treat. All options that will appear are explained below.

2.1.1 Diagnosis

If you select this a popup will tell you where you are bleeding from, if you are in pain and if you are on painkillers.

2.1.2 Bandaging

If you are bleeding, you need to bandage yourself to not bleed out. It depends on where you are bleeding from and how much you are bleeding how long it takes to bleed out. However it is usually better to sprint to cover first before bandaging yourself on an open field, just be aware that you might pass out if you are too low on blood. It depends on the mission maker if you can bandage all wounds with a single bandage or if you need one for each part where you are bleeding from.

2.1.3 Morphine

If you are in pain you can give yourself morphine. Morphine will reduce the pain immideately, but you can overdose yourself. You should not take more than 3 morphine within a short amount of time. If you are unsure how much morphine you were given/you gave yourself, us the self diagnose first, it will tell you if you are on light or heavy painkillers.
I would recommend to save your morphine and only use it if necessary as pain gets reduced automatically with time.

2.2 Treating others

Treating other works exactly the same as treating yourself, except you use the normal interaction menu instead of the self-interaction menu. If you see somebody that is unconscious, drag or carry him to cover (these options appear in the interaction menu as well), call a medic over and start bandaging them yourself until the medic arrives. Make sure you don't put yourself in danger during this, else your team will have one more casualty and therefore one more problem. Once the medic is there, protect him while he is treating the casualty.
If there is no medic available you can give a person morphine as needed, but make sure you don't overdose him. This will make him wake up faster.

2.3 Playing as medic

If you are playing as a medic you will additonally be able to use epinephrine and bloodbags on other people, this will wake people up/make up for lost blood. While some medics like to give epinephrine first so the players can bandage themselves, I would not recommend that for multiple reasons:

  • You should have a lot of spare bandages (unlike the players), use them
  • If they get shot directly before they can bandage themselves, they will bleed out even quicker
  • While it is not implemented in AGM 0.95.1 yet, you will lose blood quicker if you use epinephrine and are still bleeding

I would recommend this order instead:

  • Diagnose
  • Bandage
  • Epinephrine
  • Ask if morphine is needed

If you have multiple casualties it might be beneficial to let the player give himself morphine so you can meanwhile treat others.

3. Other things

3.1 Using and disarming explosives

You can set down explosives with the self-interaction menu. You need specific items to set off explosives apart from the timer, magnetic sensors and other things which are already on the explosive itsef. You can select which item to use when placing the explosive and it will give you a code. When setting them off you can use said code to identify which one you are setting off.

To disarm explosives you use (for whatever reason) the self-interaction menu as well. You can defuse any explosive with the defusal kit and pick it up afterwards to use it yourself. If you are an explosive specialist and are carrying explosives I would recommend getting a defusal kit as well in case you misplaced a mine etc.

3.2 Backblast

When firing rocket launchers they will create a backblast, wich can injure yourself and others. Make sure you don't have a wall behind you and shout "Backblast!" to warn people that you are about to fire. Wait for somebody to call "Clear!" before you fire.

3.3 Fire control system

Many vehicles won't have the auto-ranging anymore. To get the range press Tab once and it will measure the range to the target. If you have a moving target, hold Tab for about 1 second and it keep your reticle on the center of the target. The FCS will calculate how much you would have to lead the target and if you aim at the center of the target, the shot will be offset to the left or right and hit it.

3.4 Vector IV

The Vector IV is a high tech rangefinder, it is one of the most useful and most complex tools we currently have in our modpack. For basic operation, press and hold R until a red circle appears and then release it, the distance to the target will appear. Do the same with tab instead and it will show you the exact azimuth to the target. You can do much more with it and I would recommend you checking out the video on our Youtube channel about it or this short manual.
