Format - Zettt/km-markdown-library GitHub Wiki
Several macros for formatting text are included. You can view the shortcuts from Keyboard Maestro's Editor window. Generally these macros use ⌃⌥ plus another key
, e.g. ⌃⌥i
for "Make Italic", and ⌃⌥b
for "Make Bold".
These macros generally try to find out whether you had text selected and then change their behavior. With the formatting macros this means you can either have some text selected, in which case selection will be wrapped, or you can simply execute a macro which will insert a starting *, then you can type whatever you want to set italic, then simply press ⇥ to "Tab Out Of" italic insertion mode. (This was inspired by TextMate snippets)
There are also some macros that help you with other text formatting characters such as double quotes, parenthesis, square brackets, and backticks (for code). Better yet, included is a Keyboard Maestro 6 Plugin named "Wrap Text". You can use this macro in your own macros! Create one to wrap in {text}
or == text ==
.
To use the Make Quote macro, simply select some text, even multi-line, and execute the macro.
