The Lucario Race mod was first released on May 29, of 2014 by the original author Ochiru Yuki

Lucario Race Mod (Original)

This being one of the first pokemon mods available to starbound modding, following after the lopunny; the mod gained some recognition with the lopunny in a siliconera article talking about the two mods created by Ochiru Yuki. Siliconera Article regarding Lopunny and Lucario in Starbound

The first few updates to the mod were called "Supply Drops" and during the original mod, these versions were released:

Enraged Koala:

1.1 (was intended for this version but was already outdated)

Rampaging Koala:

1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.5.1, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9

Upbeat Giraffe:

2.0, UB

Pleased Giraffe:

PG 0.1

On January 7th of 2016, Ochiru officially put the original mod on standstill due to real life complications.

The mod would remain in perpetual standstill until August 15th of 2017 when Zancuno would take over the mod production entirely as the second author.

During the gap between 2016 and 2017 though, several contributors kept the mod alive by performing micro updates to the mod files and sharing them in the discussion tab. These people would be:

Although prior to the standstill there were contributors who helped in the production of the early mod:

Upon the 2017 takeover from Zancuno, the mod would remain on the ChuckleFish Forums with these updates:

Starbound 1.3.2:

0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5

Starbound 1.3.3:

0.7, 0.8, 0.9, 0.9.1, 0.9.2

On the April 9th of 2018 update, the mod finally launched on Steam Workshop

The mod has continued to be updated on Steam Workshop and CF forums since that date up to the current versions. As of current, the author of these updates is Zancuno.

Notable People:

Ochiru Yuki:

The original author of the mod, originally intended to be a side project branching off from their lopunny mod. While that name may be dated and not widely used by them anymore, it is still noted in reference to their work that started it all.

Cobalt Lightning:

Normal mod support handler during early days of the mod. Brainstormed and came up with many of the concepts added to the original mod, as well as providing the idle personality poses for the lucario.

Mackinz:

Constant mod support handler during early days, is responsible for several fixes to the mod and introducing the pokemon berries inside the mod to this day.

ODABUTSU:

A person who shaped the original looks and direction of the mod visually and sometimes idea wise. May not have coded or made artwork for the mod, but helped the mod progress much further than without.

RyuujinZERO:

Creator of the Avali, was a key contact in figuring out what direction to take the lucario body wise and help with the ins and outs of race mod development. Main contribution being the shape of the lucario legs, using their avali sprite model.

DanFox:

Creator of many rough drafts of artwork used in the early mod, which were cleaned up later and turned into what the early mod used. Creator of the mod swords, still used today, a present box containing a crafting menu for these swords still exists to this day (granted not in their past overpowered state).

Vanishmode:

Updated the mod to Upbeat Giraffe when Ochiru had to temporarily cease mod production due to technical issues. Provided some mod support in the time present in the early days.

Makein:

Created a hotfix in the early days of the mod for Pleased Giraffe that solved many compatibility issues the mod originally had.

Dilrax Stormpaw:

Creator of the RenTek mod series, offered a mentor role in helping solve many mod problems in both early days and later days. Provided mod support in solving issues made present by users be it for the lucario or showing the problem mod.

DaWrecka:

Contributor and mod support helper on ChuckleFish forums before steam release, that provided references, guidance, and fixes to dialog and other compatibility related issues present in the mod.

C0bra5:

Creator of the Pony Mod pack and many others, gave examples of custom tooltips that ended up being used in future versions in an loose exchange for knowledge on how to make animated in-hand weapons.

Sayter:

Head developer and project manager of Frackin' Universe and associated mods, helped in a brief conversation in converting beta weapon formats into 1.0+ standards.

Malefact☢rix DBug:

Developer behind mods responsible for fixing other mods, mostly including 1.3 mech fix changes to several old race mods, helped remaster the now defunct monster drop table patches for essence of aura.

Chaika? Yes. Chaika:

Known for their development in the widely used mod RPG Growth, advised and corrected the second author Zancuno on compatibility regarding patching monster drop tables. The lesson was indeed learned, in shame.

Silverfeelin:

Creator of the Wardrobe series of mods and many other quality of life mods, created the system that is now used to detect a lucario's body type in code. This code being widely used for quality of life fixes and improvements to the race regarding anything concerning clothing.

XDGierman:

Contributor for the mod that created and designed the racial trait bonuses/penalties for the Lucario regarding the use of Frackin' Universe/Frackin' races. As well advised and helped implement balancing to the aura sphere tree of weaponry.

Shadow_TSL:

Contributer who made the first initial female lucario sounds for the mod. Sadly these sounds have been replaced and are no longer used.

Beethoven_:

Contributor who provided the base version of the merchant lucario, that is still used today.
