Lab 12.2 Building a WLAN in Packet Tracer - Zacham17/my-tech-journal GitHub Wiki
Summary
In this lab, I configures a WLAN in packet tracer using a wireless router.
New things I learned/useful information
- In this lab, I learned how to configure a wireless router in packet tracer.
- I learned how to use the GUI tab in the router to set set up a Wireless Network
- I set various options, including disabling SSID broadcast, enabling DHCP, and setting the security options of the wireless network. All of that is done through the GUI of the router
- I also learned how to connect devices to the wireless network.
- On the laptops in packet tracer, this is done through the Desktop>PC Wireless menu
- You then can create a profile for the wireless network and set it up with the credentials of the wireless network. After that is done, the device can connect to the wireless network.
- I also was able to connect to a server from the laptops connected to the wireless network by entering the web browser on the computer and typing in the IP address of the server into the address bar of the web browser.
Problems/Issues
- For this lab, I didn’t run into any problems. It was a straightforward lab, and I had no issues. There was no troubleshooting necessary.
