Operating a Device
Discover and connect
- Place the device on a usable Ethernet or Wi-Fi network.
- Refresh FileLinkDiscovery and select a discovered device.
- Connect. The client requests device information, checks the discovered device ID, and evaluates password/setup state.
- The client performs best-effort local wall-clock time synchronization and reads SD status.
Time synchronization failure does not block the connection. The Connect workflow checks password state, but it is not evidence of a globally authorized session.
SD-card workflows
| Task | Confirmed behavior |
|---|---|
| Browse | Lists SD content through the device API. |
| Download | Requires a ready device CRC-cache value; writes to a temporary Windows file and finalizes only after CRC32 matches. |
| Upload | Windows calculates CRC32 before streaming; firmware validates the received data. |
| Delete | Deletes files or empty directories; directory deletion is not recursive. |
| Create directory | Creates one directory. |
| Format | Explicit action only; mount failure does not auto-format. |
Normal upload/download actions use an internal per-device transfer queue. The text editor transfers directly and bypass this queue.
Settings and reset
The settings UI provides device-name, password, RTC, Wi-Fi, Network Fallback, OTA, and factory-reset controls. Factory reset clears selected device settings, authentication state, and Wi-Fi credentials, then reboots. It does not erase SD contents.
RS232 (still lots of verification required here)
Use RS232 Devices... to manage persisted device definitions, execute declared commands, execute sequences, or send raw text. See RS232 Devices.
