• It uses a repurposed Realtek RTD 2168 audio chip for its conversion.
• Exactly what comes in goes out.
• The signal does not go through any strange video processing, and there is no lag at all.
• Since it's using DisplayPort, there is no limit in dotclock (i.e., low resolutions).
• Caveat: The resolution switching is not as fast as native analog output via DVI-I or VGA.

Fix for the Flimsy VGA Connection on the DAC

To fix the flimsy VGA connection on the DAC, you will need:

• VGA Gender Changer (Male to Female)
  

• 4-40 Hex Screws (10mm or 12mm)
  

Notes:

• The absolute maximum thread length is 12mm, but it is recommended to use 10mm to be safe.
