Thatch is a building block.
Thatch blocks have a rough, rugged and tropical dried grass texture. They make great accent blocks, roofs and walls in tropical jungle and savanna exhibits. Thatch is crafted with renewable materials, and can be used to very quickly build up zoo buildings and enclosures.
Four thatch blocks can be crafted with 1x String and 4x Yellow Bamboo.

Thatch can be crafted into doors, fences, fence gates, slabs, stairs, and trapdoors.

Thatch doors and thatch trapdoors behave identically to vanilla wooden doors and trapdoors. They can be opened without the use of redstone by the player.
Three thatch doors can be crafted with 6x Thatch vertically.

Thatch fences and thatch fence gates are functional barriers. At 1.5 blocks tall, they can contain most animals, and cannot be jumped by players.
Three thatch fences can be crafted with 4x Thatch and 2x Yellow Bamboo.
