Giant anteaters are rare spawns in dry grassland biomes. They always spawn alone. Male and females are equally likely to spawn, and are not sexually dimorphic.

The giant anteater is a slow, defensive animal; they will acknowledge players, but not attack them unless hit. They also react aggressively towards players in the vicinity of their offspring.

Giant anteaters can be tamed with insectivore kibble.

Giant anteaters have 10 hearts (20 points) of health, can deal 2 hearts (4 points) of damage, and drop medium meat upon death.

Giant anteaters are medium animals with moderate food needs. They eat a insectivore diet, consisting of insects, including ZAWA's leaf cutter ant.

Giant anteaters can use the scented ball, scratching post, sprinkler, and puzzle feeder enrichment items.

Giant anteaters are a low fertility species, and can be bred with a leaf cutter ant. As medium-sized animals they have a gestation time of 56000 ticks, and give birth to 1 pup that will take 4 2/3 minecraft days to reach adulthood.

There are 4 color variants of giant anteater: mealworm, termite, bullet ant, and harvester ant. These are in-game color variants, not real subspecies.
