Bars are a staple building block for ZAWA, since early versions of Rebuilt.

Bars come in four variants: acrylic, steel, wire, and zoo. All of these blocks share the same features.

• The fences are 1-block tall and have the same hitbox as vanilla Iron Bars.
• The fences connect to each other, as well as solid blocks, wall blocks, and glass.
• They can be crafted into doors and trapdoors.
• They can be crafted into full blocks and slabs.
• All bars and bar-related blocks can be waterlogged.
• Like vanilla glass, bars, trapdoors, doors, blocks and slabs all allow unfiltered light through.

All bar fences can be crafted into bar doors with 3x iron nugget and 3x fences. Despite being crafted out of metal, bar doors all behave like wooden doors and can be opened with a right-click, as well as with redstone.

All bar fences can be crafted into trapdoors with 2x iron nugget and 2x fences. Trapdoors can be used to create safe feeding doors for zookeepers, to avoid direct contact with aggressive animals.

All bar fences can be crafted into two full blocks with 4x fences.

Bars can be crafted into bar slabs with 3x bars. Bar slabs are versatile blocks that are perfect for enclosing bird, primate, or big cat exhibits to prevent escapes, or creating overhangs or "barbed wire" on large animal exhibits. They can also be used to make drainage grates.

Acrylic bars have dark, powder-coated, thin bars.

Eight acrylic bars can be crafted with 8x Wire Bars around 1x Black Dye.

Steel bars

Steel bars are cleaner and more modern-looking than Iron Bars. Simple, versatile and sleek, they are a solid choice for building exhibits. They are also slightly cheaper to craft, requiring 2 iron nuggets instead of iron ingots.

Sixteen steel bars can be crafted with 2x Iron Nugget and 4x Iron Ingot.

Wire bars

Wire bars are thin, clean chain-link fencing. They allow for very good visibility into and out of exhibits, while still keeping animals contained. They are cheaper than both Iron Bars and Steel Bars.

Sixteen wire bars can be crafted with 3x Iron Nugget and 3x Iron Ingot in an alternating pattern.

Zoo bars

Zoo bars have green, powder-coated bars that are perfect for old-fashioned zoos or themed buildings.

Eight zoo bars can be crafted with 8x Steel Bars around 1x Green Dye.
