Registration/Upgrades

  • The Registration page/Widget/Shortcode is not showing!

Your Members uses WordPress inbuilt system, so make sure it is switched on, in WordPress Settings->Membership tick "Anyone can register" option

  • When I create a user in WordPress I get an error on Login!

Make sure in Member Management you have given the new user an account type and turned active

  • I've created a subscription and used the Shortcode but it's also showing on the regular login page!

Within the Subscription management, select the "advanced" tab and the Hide Membership option

  • My users just upgraded and now has 2 PayPal subscriptions!

Yes unfortunately due to the way PayPal and MoneyBookers works only the user can "cancel" or modify the subscription, there is a direct link for them to cancel the subscription in user profile

  • I want to create a custom email, instead of the normal User Name and Password!

You can do this through the Mail Manager Module (available in Your Suite or standalone) in Welcome Email of the Mail Manager Tab

Protecting Content

  • I have put content in Private Tags and it is still showing!

If you are an "Author" or higher role you still will see all content, if a subscriber is still seeing, check that you have checked the various account types in the Your Members block on the write/edit page for that post.

  • Can Your Members protect pages?

Yes, within the documentation we refer to "posts" but this is any type or Page/Post or custom post type.

  • Can Your Members protect Categories and Tags?

No, due to the way these are created it would not be possible to protect entire categories, however you can use the "mass post setup" in Access Control to set all existing posts in a category to be protected.

  • Is Partial Protection insecure?

No it just means part of the page could be seen by public if the admin chooses to, and is a reference to using [private] tags.

Payment Gateways

  • Do I need a special PayPal account?

No, we use Web Payments Standard which requires no special account, but does need to be at least a Premier or Business account.

  • My users pay with an eCheque and it blocks their account!

Enable Grace Periods which will give those with "pending status" an extra few days, though be aware that many eCheques fail.

  • Do all Payment Gateways support Recurring Subscriptions?

No some gateways (CardFlex and BeanStalk) currently do not support recurring gateways but the major ones: WorldPay, PayPal and MoneyBookers do.

  • Do all Payment Gateways support Pay Per Post and Pay Per Post Groups?

No, CCBill does not support Pay Per Post.

  • I can't see a Gateway but it was mentioned on the site?

Some gateways are not bundled with the core product. We recommend you use the bundled gateways as we are not actively developing this plugin and cannot guaranteed results if you attempt to use an unlisted gateway.

  • Can I use more then 1 Payment Method?

Yes, but those Payment methods would be available (where possible) across the entire site.

  • Do any or the Gateways support Direct Credit Card Payments on site?

No we only offer "hosted" Payment solutions.

Other

  • Third party plugin shortcodes that I use in between the [private][/private] tags do not work.

By default, any third party shortcode that doesn't use the "official" wordpress shortcode system Will fail. You can enable to support these shortcodes by going to ymadmin->settings->Other Settings and Enable Legacy Shortcode support, however doing will stop it being possible to use multiple nested private tags on a page.
