Your Members MailChimp integration makes use of MailChimp static segments but what exactly are they?

Is a means to allow you to segment a single list they are similar to groups but can only be edited via the API meaning users can not add themselves to a segment. This means you can easily send email to only a specific segment, it also means you don’t need to have multiple lists which can be pain to manage. When a list in synchronised Your Members adds the following segments:

• Your Members - Inactive members
• Your Members - active members
• Each Package Type
• Each Subscription Type

This means each member will be added to at least 3 segments Within MailChimp interface when creating a new campaign or auto responder you can select the “segment” option when creating a new email, select from the drop down list “static segment” and choose to either include or exclude users from that segment along with the segment itself. to confirm the number of users being emailed hit the refresh count button.
