After the third session of playtesting I decided to work a bit more on the level to polish it out. Taking a good long look I figured out how to change the level layout so that it was smaller and allow for players to find eachother much faster, cutting out an area both on the top floor and bottom floor. This cut out caused me to move two portals around in order to better fit the flow of the level along with allowing players to move without feeling that they were stuck in a single area. Looking at the data that my testers gave me I looked at the overall interest in the level's challenge and surprise finding both lacking. Using this as an opportunity I added the nail gun into my level to make the level more diverse and keep combat fun. For the next play test I will see how the players feel about map size before trying to figure out how else I can try to either shrink it or expand upon what is already there. I will also see if just adding the nail gun was enough to liven up combat or if there is something else that I need to do in order to make the level flourish more.
