How It Works

iplayer-arr presents itself to Sonarr as both a Newznab-compatible indexer and a SABnzbd-compatible download client, so Sonarr can search and download BBC content through its standard workflow. When Sonarr requests a download, iplayer-arr resolves the stream URL via the BBC Media Selector API, then uses ffmpeg to remux the HLS stream into a media file. The container is built on the hotio/base:alpinevpn image, providing optional WireGuard VPN support to route all BBC traffic through a UK endpoint.
