6. Testing - Wiebsonice/GalleryMatch GitHub Wiki
Testing
To see if the website you've created, will in fact work for your target audience, it's recommended to conduct some user tests. I've set up a simple test to see the skeletal of my jobstory is clear to my users or not. And to have a view of where potential errors will or can occur.
Test 1: LoFi tests
To have a first initial test, i wanted to test the first draft wireframes. I specifically wanted tot test with LoFi because that usually gives a good intention of the position of buttons work and if the user understands the skeleton of your website. More info about the wireframes can be found on the 5. Wireframes page.
invision
For the user's I have made an invision prototype from the wireframes, please see the prototype here.
Main task for the user:
You've just registered your account. This is your profile page, try and add a upcoming expo to your profile page, because you want to attend the banksy expo.
Questions asked:
- During your task, did you find everything to be placed where you'd expect it?
- Do you miss anything during the task?
- Do you have feedback about the profile page?
- What can be better?
- What do you think of the overall concept?
Testpersoon 1: Bram
- I found the buttons fairly well placed, the only thing i found odd was the filter button and the search bar below it, its usually located in the top bar as well.
- I think its a real cool feature to see which people want to go to a certain art expo but i'm not sure if that is going to make the people be interested for the expo itself or the people attending it?
- I was missing some sort of icons in front of the profile info, right under the name. (and missing some branding even though you said its not about the branding)
- I think it's a pretty clear flow at the moment, i'd be interested in how the app will be with the registration form and the matching itself.
- I think it's a real unique concept, i'm not sure if i would use it myself but yeah.
Verdict The result was mainly positive, I think the comment about the icons is really viable, I can make the profile page a more clear. Also the point he mentioned about being able to see who want to go to an expo is quite interesting, because it kinda messes with the concept in a way that it's about following your own art style and not pick because this person wants to go there as well.
Testpersoon 2: Eddy
- Event hough I don't see a lot of designing yet it feels somehow quite familiar, so for me everything was placed where i'd expect it for the most part. If i where to mention one thing it's probably that on the profile page i was looking for a heart icon or list icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- Maybe the option to add an expo from the list itself? right now you'd always need to watch the detail page.
- I think it can be a bit more simplified, it can be quite overwhelming landing there for the first part? or a brief nice info the first time you register.
- I was looking for a button to go to matches, it didn't feel like a dating app yet, more like a social media.
- It's quite unique and I think it can work for some people the only thing is, you'd need enough accounts to create matches, and you've picked the right audience but i'm not sure how much people will be on the app due to the art relation.
Verdict I was kinda worried with the commend about the concept, because that could be an issue in the future. I really liked the idea of a first welcome tutorial of the profile page, although I don't have the time for this to implement it in the website during this project. And finnaly the option to add a expo to your list form the overall list is a nice thing to have.
