A very nearly unique world, Kerbin has flat plains, soaring mountains and wide, blue oceans. The only world which may rival it is Laythe. Home to the Kerbals, Kerbin has just the right conditions to support a vast, seemingly undepletable population of the eager green creatures. Reaching a stable orbit around Kerbin is one of the first things budding space programs strive for. It is said that those who can get their ship into orbit are halfway to anywhere.

Alternis Kerbin closely resembles the Stock Kerbin in geology and terrain. It has the same types of plants, same terrain colors, and same small-scale detail. However, its continents have been changed by chopping up a stock Kerbin map that was rotated in a couple of directions. It is the same size and gravity, and has the same atmospheric characteristics as the stock Kerbin.

The Kerbal Space Center can be found adjacent to a large volcano, meant to replace the western "K2" mountain range of stock Kerbin. Most of the Alternis Kerbin map is made up of a mismatched montage of the stock planet's terrain.
