Getting Started - WesleyLuk90/ffxiv-vr GitHub Wiki

Prerequisites

  • You need to install and use XIV Launcher to launch the game.
  • If you've ever installed GShade or ReShade they must be deleted as they interfere with this plugin and cause crashes. The dll files from GShade and ReShade must be deleted from your game folder

  • The recommended runtime is Virtual Desktop for the best performance but any OpenXR runtime should work

    • In the FFXIV settings you can enable "Character Configuration > Movement > General > Switch to 1st person view when fully zoomed in." so that you can zoom to toggle first person

Controls

The recommended way to use this mod is with a standard controller. Switch FFXIV into controller mode in the FFIX settings under "Character Configuration". Playing using keyboard and mouse or VR controllers is possible does not work as well.

Keyboard and Mouse

Using the mouse you can click on the UI but clicking targets does not really work. To target you need to use tab targeting and/or binding a keyboard shortcut to the controller targeting buttons.
