How to Learn Bayesian Statistics for Social Scientists - WendyOlsen/HelpIntroBayesianSocialScientists GitHub Wiki
Welcome to the HelpIntroBayesianSocialScientists wiki!
It's very easy to learn about statistics using bayes formula and Bayesian methods, but it will take time for you to gather up all the right skills. My training materials take about 3 hours to peruse. Within them, I suggest ways to read through various online sources and books, learn software and do practice activities. This all takes time, perhaps up to 10 hours a week * 6 weeks for a typical person. Bayesian statistics is useful for amending the key assumptions of a t-test or a regression model. It's also useful for small samples in remote parts of a country when we have a larger dataset for the country as a whole. Because of these strengths, it's very good for multilevel statistical models too. It is widely used in meta-analysis during a systematic review. Lastly it can be used for experimental analysis of randomised groups or any other multi-group sampling situation. I am using it to adjust for diverse rates of 'undercount' due to a sensitive measure.
