Optical Sensor

Seems to work, was able to focus the lens for the most part. Need the live video stream feature to dial it in even further.

FLIR Lepton

Functions when power, ground, 4 SPI Pins, and VSYNC pin (GPIO 17) are plugged in and Pi is reset.

When either the reset pin (GPIO 6), SDA (GPIO 2), or SLC (GPIO 3) are plugged in, it stops functioning.

To restart functionality, need to reset Raspberry Pi or lepton using reset pin (GPIO #6) and then remove the reset pin .
