Optimizing social site visibility using Google Search Console - Waiviogit/waivio GitHub Wiki

One method to encourage the Google bot to discover a new site is by directly adding it to the Google Search Console. This can be done using the verification process via Google Analytics. Once added, request indexing for at least one page. This action should prompt the Google spider to autonomously explore and index other pages on the site as well.

Preconditions:

  • The user must have administrative access to the site's Google Analytics.
  • The site must be associated with a property in this Google Analytics account.
  • The same Google account should be used for both Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

Steps:

  1. Paste the Google Analytics code into the site "Settings" section on Waivio and save.
  2. Navigate to the Google Search Console.
  3. In the "Select property type" modal, choose "URL prefix".
  4. Input your site's URL.
  5. Select verification via Google Analytics as your verification method (picture below).
  6. Your site will be successfully added to the Search Console.
  7. Enter your site's URL into the URL inspection tool (found in the search bar at the top).
  8. Click on "Request Indexing".
  9. You submitted the request for indexing.

Note: The indexing request might take a few days or week to process.
