Custom domain full - Waiviogit/waivio GitHub Wiki

This guide explains how to connect a domain, initially created on platforms like GoDaddy, to Waivio. This allows you to construct a website using a Waivio template while still maintaining a custom domain. The instructions are divided into three key sections: setting up the domain in Cloudflare, configuring the NS record, and integrating Cloudflare's nameservers on GoDaddy. Although GoDaddy is highlighted as an example for domain acquisition, the methods can apply to any similar platform.

1. Set up Your Domain with Cloudflare:

  1. Go to Cloudflare.
  2. If you don't have an account, sign up; otherwise, log in.
  3. On the main page, click "Get started." image
  4. Enter your domain in the provided field and click "Continue." image
  5. Select the free plan and proceed by clicking "Continue." image
  6. You'll now be provided with nameservers specific to Cloudflare. Make a note of these.image

2. Set Up A Record (NS Type A) to point to Waivio:

(You can perform this step on either GoDaddy or Cloudflare. Here's how to do it on Cloudflare)

  1. Go to the DNS page in your Cloudflare dashboard.
  2. Look for the record type labeled "A."
  3. Click the "Edit" button next to it.image
  4. Update the IPv4 address field to 206.189.200.117
  5. Save the changes.image
