3.2 BASIC SURVEY AND REQUIREMENTS - W-Div-Engg-Exploration-Odd-2026-27/Repo-12 GitHub Wiki
In Engineering Design , the Basic Survey and Requirements phase is the foundational stage where you analyze existing solutions, identify user needs, and translate those needs into precise engineering specifications before building your prototype.

Basic Survey & Requirements Overview Market Survey: Researched commercial lamps and static artificial flowers; identified a gap for synchronized vertical linear movement with concealed electronics. Technical Survey: Selected ESP32-C3 microcontrollers, PCA9685 PWM drivers, 15A MOSFETs, and 1mm brass wire for structural rigidity and precise actuation.

Engineering Requirements Classification
A. Objective Functions (Goals & Features) Touch-triggered activation via a capacitive touch switch on the pot base. Smooth, automated vertical linear blooming. Dynamic visual illumination using integrated pink and green LED circuits. Wireless control and remote operation via ESP32-C3 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. Cordless internal battery operation powered by a wireless charging module.
B. Constraints (System Limitations) Spatial Limit: All control boards, drivers, and wiring must fit compactly inside the pot base enclosure. Electrical Safety: 10,000 µF capacitors filter voltage spikes, and 56 Ohm resistors limit current. Mechanical Tolerance: 3mm copper tubes must maintain smooth internal clearance for moving linkage rods without binding. Insulation: Ceramic-insulated copper wiring prevents internal short circuits within tight spaces.
